Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Siza collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Siza (“Siza”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an online service that helps tradespeople and small businesses create a website by chatting with us. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Siza is the “data controller” of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us at info@siza.app.
2. The information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account or sign in.
- Business and website content — the details you give us about your trade so we can build your website, including your services, service areas, business hours, qualifications, photos, and contact details.
- Messages and conversations — the messages you exchange with Siza to build and edit your website. Where you choose to contact us or use Siza through WhatsApp, this includes your WhatsApp phone number and the content of those WhatsApp messages.
- Usage and technical information — information about how you use our service, such as your device, browser type, IP address, and general activity, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create, build, edit, and host your website;
- provide, maintain, and improve our services;
- communicate with you about your account, your website, and support requests, including by email and, where you choose, by WhatsApp;
- keep our service secure and prevent fraud or misuse;
- comply with our legal obligations.
4. Our lawful bases for using your information
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases for processing your personal information:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service you have signed up for and to build and host your website.
- Legitimate interests — to improve, secure, and support our service, in a way that does not override your rights.
- Consent — for certain communications and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to process information to comply with the law.
5. Messaging and WhatsApp
You can choose to use Siza or contact us through WhatsApp. If you do, your messages are delivered through WhatsApp, which is provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. We use the WhatsApp messages and phone number you share with us only to respond to you, build and update your website, and provide support. We do not send you marketing messages on WhatsApp without your consent, and you can ask us to stop contacting you there at any time.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run our service, and only as needed. These include:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (for example, cloud hosting and database providers) who store and serve our service and your website;
- Authentication providers who help us sign you in securely;
- Messaging providers such as Meta/WhatsApp, where you choose to communicate with us through WhatsApp;
- Artificial intelligence providers who help process your requests to generate and edit website content.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal information outside the UK, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent protections.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as you have an account with us and as needed to provide our service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it to meet a legal obligation.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict how we use your information;
- ask for a copy of your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@siza.app. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some cookies are essential for the service to work.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
12. Children
Our service is intended for business users and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly.
14. Contact us
If you have any questions or requests about this policy or your personal information, please contact us at info@siza.app.
